About Freelance Content and Copywriter Nici West

Hello curious friend, I’m Nici. I’m a freelance content writer, copywriter and editor living in London, UK. I’m climate curious, which means I write about the climate crisis, what businesses can do to help prevent it, and what we as individuals can do to make the earth a better place to live. I’m still educating myself, I don’t know it all, trust me. Join me on my journey to explore the beautiful complexities of it all.

I have over 10 years of experience in writing for marketing purposes and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Manchester, studying under MJ Hyland, Geoff Ryman and Colm Toibin. I’m a short story writer, and my most recent publication win is being Highly Commended for the Bridport Prize 2019. I get a kick out of writing words that clients love and bringing their ideas to life. I write a lot of website copywriting and blogs, but I also get asked to produce personal commissions such as a special poem for a 50th birthday present! Whatever you have in mind, get in touch.

I live with my long-term partner and two adventurous under 5-year-olds. I also run baby-friendly creative writing workshops called Mummy Writes and an independent publishing company called Boudicca Press to give voice to underrepresented women. I LOVE working with words. I’m a creative person, so the more creative the project the better! I’ve recently graduated from a life-changing climate awareness course with Common Earth.
